At Prime Hues Painting LLC we specialize in refinishing, sealing, and staining.
- Wood decks and fences need to be stained every 7 to 10 years depending on the thickness of your wood.
- Redwood, red cedar and other resin-rich wood species have tannins, which weather to a grayish look. By treating the wood with oxalic acid we remove the tannin to expose the fresh wood and rejuvenate your deck.
- In order to hide the imperfections of the aged wood, with excessive porosity and/or extreme color variances, we recommend using solid or opaque stain. Whereas if the wood is sound and has a nice grain, using semi- transparent or transparent stain would be more aesthetic option.
